Terms of stay

These terms apply when you book a stay at Westport Landing or Chic Cottage through this website. By booking, you agree to them.

Booking and payment

Your booking is confirmed when your payment goes through. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and we never see or store your card number. The total shown at checkout includes the nightly rate, the cleaning fee, and any taxes that apply.

Guests and occupancy

The number of guests you select at booking is the maximum who may stay overnight. Westport Landing sleeps up to 8 and Chic Cottage sleeps up to 6. Extra overnight guests and unregistered visitors are not allowed. We may cancel a stay without refund if the guest limit is exceeded.

Parties and events

Parties and events are not allowed unless we have agreed to them in writing before your stay. Please keep noise down, especially between 10 PM and 8 AM, and respect the neighbors.

ID check

Every booking requires a quick ID check, powered by Stripe, completed before check-in. We never receive your ID documents. Stripe handles them and tells us only whether the check passed. We may cancel a stay if the check is not completed or does not match the booking.

House rules

Each home has its own rules, listed on its page and in your arrival information. They include no smoking or vaping and any pet rules for that home. Please follow them for the whole stay.

Damage and cleaning

You are responsible for damage to the home, its contents, or its grounds caused by you or anyone in your group, beyond normal wear and tear. This includes excessive cleaning, missing items, and smoke or odor. If this happens we will document it with photos and send you an itemized invoice for the actual cost of repair or replacement. Where permitted, we may charge the payment method you used. We will first give you a chance to respond.

Safety and liability

You stay at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, KC Home Base and the owners are not liable for injury, loss, or damage to you or your belongings during your stay, except where caused by our own negligence. Guests are responsible for the safety of children and other members of their group.

Check-in and check-out

Arrival and departure times, and how to get in, are in your arrival email. Late check-out is not guaranteed.
